New Brunswick
WorkSafeNB is a Crown corporation responsible for the administration and enforcement of New Brunswick's Occupational Health and Safety Act; Workers' Compensation Act; Workplace Health, Safety and Compensation Commission Act; and Firefighters' Compensation Act and corresponding regulations. WorkSafe NB has an agreement with Health Canada to enforce the federal Hazardous Products Act and associated regulations.
WHMIS is an information system for hazard communication. Its key elements are the labelling of containers of controlled/hazardous products, the provision of safety data sheets (SDSs) and worker education and site-specific training programs. In New Brunswick, Regulation 2016-6 also establishes employer responsibilities for a WHMIS program.

Transition to WHMIS 2015 – Portal Update
Effective April 1, 2016, the Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System Regulation - Occupational Health and Safety Act has been amended to align with the amended Hazardous Products Act (HPA) and Hazardous Products Regulations (HPR), which incorporate the GHS.
