The Academy of Certified Hazardous Materials Managers vision is to be the recognized leader and resource for those practicing Environmental, Health and Safety Management. The Safety and Health Division is committed to, furthering the application of chemical engineering to the broad field of safety and health and providing a forum for chemical engineers and others to exchange information concerning all facets of safety and health. The American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers advances the arts and sciences of heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration to serve humanity and promote a sustainable world. BCEOHRN supports BC's environmental and occupational health researchers by building linkages to foster a new model of province-wide collaboration and communication that over time will generate ground-breaking knowledge. CAPE is a group of physicians, allied health care practitioners and citizens committed to a healthy and sustainable environment. As an organization composed mostly of physicians, CAPE brings its health expertise to environmental issues and is an important voice for environmental health in Canada. CCPS, an industry association, has helped industry develop tools to keep our workplaces and communities safer, even as technology and businesses have become more complex. The Bachelor of Environmental Health is an intensive 15-month program designed to prepare students for careers in public health inspection or in other areas of environmental health practice, or for graduate studies in environmental and public health. The program incorporates classroom instruction, field experiences, mentoring opportunities, and a 12-week field experience or an applied research project completed in association with organizations from the public or private sector. The Environmental Health Clinic is a unique multidisciplinary clinic, and the only one of its kind in Ontario. It was established in 1996 by the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care to be a provincial resource in promoting environmental health, and to improve health care for people with environment-linked conditions such as Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Fibromyalgia and Multiple Chemical Sensitivities Bachelor of Applied Science (Environmental Health/Science Degree) available from this unique institution. Guided by a strong and caring team of Aboriginal Elders, faculty, students and community representatives, the vision of the First Nations University of Canada’s Department of Science delivers high-quality science programs and holistic support systems based on Indigenous knowledge, natural laws, philosophies, practices and contemporary needs. Healthy Schools Network, Inc. is a not for profit education and research organization dedicated to securing policies and actions that will create schools that are environmentally responsible to children, personnel, and to their communities. Centered on children's environmental health, Healthy Schools Network activities include information, education, and coalition building. The Institute of Hazardous Materials Management (IHMM) is a non-profit organization that offers the Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM®) program. IHMM is governed by a Board of Directors. Their mission is to advance the environmental health and protection professional for the purpose of providing a healthful environment for all. This US Environmental Protection Agency laboratory "is the agency's focal point for scientific research on the effects of contaminants and environmental stressors on human health and ecosystem integrity." The National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) is one of 27 Institutes and Centers of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), which is a component of the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS). The mission of the NIEHS is to reduce the burden of human illness and disability by understanding how the environment influences the development and progression of human disease. The NPIQ is a cooperative effort between Oregon State University and the United States Environmental Protection Agency. The NZ Safety Council Trust was established to promote Best Practice in Health & Safety Management and Environmental Protection in all aspects of New Zealand life. The Nova Scotia Environmental Health Centre is dedicated to care of people with chronic illness related to the environment; research into causes and effective treatments and education. The Right-to-Know Network (RTK NET), a service provided by OMB Watch, provides free access to numerous environmental databases. With the information available on RTK NET, you can identify specific factories and their environmental effects, and assess the people and communities affected. The Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry (SETAC) is an independent, nonprofit professional society that provides a forum for individuals and institutions engaged in study of environmental issues, management and conservation of natural resources, environmental education, and environmental research and development. The Society of Toxicology is the leading global force in advancing science to enhance human, animal, and environmental health. This program is part of the Specialized Information Services (SIS) Division of the US National Library of Medicine (NLM). This site is an access point for all of the databases available on the Toxicology Data Network (TOXNET), as well as a Chemical Information page for additional information on drugs, pesticides, environmental pollutants, and other potential toxins.
